RADIATION SCIENTISTS are becoming concerned at the intensive use of Depleted Uranium (DU) munitions by Nato. There are dreadful health effects of inhaled or ingested DU particles including kidney, liver and immune system problems, birth defects and cancers. DU weapons were used in the Gulf War. In Iraq the incidence of leukaemia, cancers and birth defects has increased dramatically since then.
