Sir: Why all this mistrust of Labour's acceptance of Mr Ecclestone's money? My own experience, based on a donation of pounds 10 a month for as long as I remember, suggests two consequences of donating. First, anyone who gives just gets asked for more money. Second, the party's leadership pursues policies completely at odds with those of its donors.
