CAYTE WILLIAMS has missed the trend when she says "Hollywood seems to have lost its handle on how women should be seen on screen" ("Strong, sexy but still struggling", Real Life, 6 September). Released this summer in the US were girl orientated films such as Paulie, Madeline, The Parent Trap and Ever After, not to mention the critically acclaimed Disney cartoon Mulan which grossed more than $100m. All these films portray strong, brave girls with well rounded characters. Girl power is on the march!
