Letter: Confused leader in palace coup

Sir: 'Elysee Palace occupied by a conservative prime minister . . .' (leading article, 21 June). Have I missed the coup d'etat, or has Edouard Balladur joined the ranks of 'les squatters'? How, I wonder, does President Mitterrand go about getting him out of the Elysee Palace and back where he belongs, in the Hotel Matignon?
