Sir: The children of a broken marriage are more likely than others to regard divorce as the only way out of stress between married couples. They will not be able to see that people who stay married are not "spitting in the wind of change" as Ms Toynbee suggests. It's just that they have found a more mature way of dealing with their differences so that neither their children nor society will suffer.
