Sir: My colleague and friend the late Maurice Chandler was never unkind about anyone, not even Andrew Brown. The latter's remarks about him in your edition of last Saturday (Faith & Reason: "Sex, personality and priesthood", 10 February) are best summed up in Pope's Epistle to Dr Arbuthnot (ll.201- 4).
