MY father in the 1960s and 1970s and my grandfather during the war in Egypt took mind-altering drugs. None the less, they often pass judgement on drug-taking ("Warning: Ecstasy causes amnesia", 7 January).
As a 24-year-old, I have enjoyed the dance scene and all that accompanies it, and I would like to think when I have children I will be a parent who advises from experience, not a condemning hypocrite. As Carol Sarler indicated, more needs to be done to educate youth instead of just giving them criminal records.
