Green Party's death has been exaggerated

I SEE that Sara Parkin, Jonathon Porritt and Paul Ekins are espousing moving tax from employment to resource use and prom- oting green economics ("The great and green back megaphone of good news", 25 February). These are important parts of the Green Party's manifesto. So, for years, have been ideas of a "stakeholder" economy.

Any ecological pressure group has a role to play but real progress will only be made when ecological issues are brought to the fore of political debate. This is what the Green Party sets out to do and we have been rewarded by local electoral success in Oxford, Stroud and elsewhere.
