Letter: King's package is obscene

THE 'dirty tricks' campaign by British Airways against Virgin falls into insignificance when compared with the obscenity of the expected award of a salary of more than pounds 200,000, plus perks worth thousands, as part of a package worth pounds 600,000 per year ('King nets pounds 600,000-a-year 'golden goodbye' ', 14 February) to Lord King as president of BA.

I can think of one thing only that could be more obscene than the unjustifiable offer of such a cash award and that would be the acceptance of such an award by anybody of principle.
