Letter: Maastricht supplement shows need for referendum

THANK you for producing an excellent copy of the treaty of Maastricht. How John Major and his Cabinet can stand up and say no referendum is necessary in Britain is truly astonishing. The monster has grown out of all proportion to the original ideals assumed in Heath's time.
