Letter: Malaysian views on media freedom; British attitudes to aid and trade
Sir: Aid should be given to the poor, not to countries that have economies strong enough to benefit our own. If the Government needs a slush fund to 'win' trade, then it should create one and place it at the disposal of the DTI, instead of dissembling under the guise of charity. It does, however, seem a rather interventionist policy for the current incumbents.
