Letter: Mind your own ID

Click to follow
Sir: Don and Sue Prutton (letter, 29 October) ask for refutation of their suggestion that those who object to the introduction of ID cards simply wish their identity to be concealed.

Perhaps they should ask instead what sort of people might wish their identity to be concealed in a hypothetical - but by no means unthinkable - future. Jews, socialists . . . ?

History should teach us vigilance, not complacency.

Yours faithfully,

Maryport, Cumbria
