Letter: Muddled heads in BBC radio

Sir: With the announcement yesterday by the BBC to cut all children's programmes from Radio 5 comes a great rush of publicity for these excellent programmes. My own children, who were unaware that Radio 5 had special broadcasts for children, have avidly listened to Radio 5 this week, and are now hooked on a 'daily dose'.

The BBC's problem with a very small audience for its youthful programming appears to be simply one of not letting children into their secret. What a shame.

Yours faithfully,

PATRICIA DANT
