LETTER:Never too late for Israel to prosecute
From Mr Rob Kent
Sir: You report that Israel believes that it is "too late" to prosecute soldiers who killed Egyptian prisoners of war in 1948, 1956 and 1967 ("Killings case dropped", 29 August). This move is contrary to international law as well as unjust.
UN General Assembly Resolution 2391 in 1968 ruled that statutes of limitation are not applicable to war crimes. Indeed, Israel has rightly continued to prosecute non-Israeli war criminals from the Forties.
Yours faithfully,
Rob Kent
