'THROUGHOUT history the innocent have died along with the guilty, and the citizens of British cities were demonstrably more innocent than those in German cities.' Was there ever a remark more revealing of the amoral, self-serving logic of the military mind than this from Air Marshal Sir John Curtiss in your letters page?
