YOUR OBITUARY of Pauline Reage (2 May), and her notorious Histoire d'O, recalled the sheer disappointment of buying the book as a young man. As a model railway enthusiast, always eager to read about small-gauge railway engines and rolling stock, one was mortified to discover in translation that the Story of `O' was something other than a history of Hornby, Basset Lowke et al.
