LETTER: Orange casualties

Sir: There is a word that rhymes properly with orange, although its uses are pretty limited. Someone I know who served in the trenches in World War I told me of a General Gorringe, believed to be responsible for causing heavy British casualties. He was known to his troops as "Blood Orange".
