Letter: Other people's conversations
Sir: I should like to know why the Venerable Phizackerley (Letters, 21 June) finds the use of mobile phones in a railway carriage an 'intrusive activity'. Presumably, he finds any form of conversation by fellow passengers to be unacceptable - or does he feel frustrated at being privy to only one side of the conversation? Personally, I am quite happy to hear others engaged in a most common and useful activity - speaking to one another.
Yours sincerely,
