Letter: Parisian meridian
THE line of trees to be planted from Dunkirk to the Pyrenees for the millennium (report, 8 April) will mark not the Greenwich meridian but the Parisian one, which the French have long tried in vain to sell to the rest of the world. One hopes that this gesture of futile nationalism is symbolic of the second and not the third millenium.
