Letter: Pressing the case for apple juice

Sir: I was delighted to read Dr Andrew Lea's letter (13 February), which tells me it is safe to drink my own apple juice, which is not filtered or pasteurised. I have a massive old Bramley which suddenly went beserk and for several years has produced masses of apples. On the advice of Duff Hart-Davis, I bought a fruit press and happily churn out juice, frozen in old mineral water bottles.

I do enjoy the juice. How many hundred litres per day could I safely drink?

Yours sincerely,

L. E. FOULGER
