Letter: Price war on Fleet Street

Sir: Although I did enjoy the pleasant surprise of only being charged 20p for my copy of the Independent today, I must agree wholeheartedly with the message of your editor Andreas Whittam Smith.

I am sure that I speak for the vast majority of your readers when I say that I would rather pay extra for high quality journalism and integrity. I do hope that enough readers stay loyal to this paper to ensure its continued success.
