Letter: Smokers' rights

INFERTILITY IS a medical condition which can be identified and treated. As such, it is as deserving of treatment as any other condition in the medical dictionary ("IVF treatment to be denied to smokers", 14 March). Obesity and smoking may be adverse factors for conception. But basing treatment on clinical outcome sets a dangerous precedent.
