Letter: Thorny question of the red rose
Sir: I fear W. E. Brum is going to be disappointed by the turnout on St George's Day. It has always seemed to me typically and eccentrically English to have a national flower that is not in bloom on the national day.
Would the wallflower be more
appropriate?
Yours faithfully,
