Letter: Too hot for comfort

Sir: I have noticed that in nearly all public buildings the temperature is adjusted to be comfortable for the employees who work there.

Sensible.

I have also noticed that those employees never wear wool - usually shirt sleeves, sometimes a thin jacket.

Crazy.

Wouldn't it be a good idea if heating systems were set at a

level that caused employees to wear at least one layer of wool? Good for the planet. Good for

fuel bills. Good for health. Good for shoppers in heavy overcoats. Good for the lambswool jumper industry.

Yours faithfully,
