Letter: Wet excuse

I HAD no idea that Yorkshire Water's main raison d'etre was public relations. Trevor Newton OBE believes that PR is "probably the only area that we got badly wrong" ("Fat Cataclysm", Review, 25 February). Does this infer, then, that the situation regarding supply of water in Yorkshire was satisfactory last year - it was merely inadequate PR that was to blame?!
