Letter: When approval means truancy
Sir: Should not those schools and education authorities appearing towards the bottom of the truancy league tables be commended for instilling in some pupils such notions of self-sacrifice and consideration for others that they voluntarily absent themselves from school and so confer on fellow pupils the advantages to be gained from lower pupil-teacher ratios?
