Letter: This was no 'stuffing' for England

David Campese is highly skilled and a pathfinder ("Pied piper of the open era", Sport, 13 October) But I take exception to his comment regarding Australia's narrow victory over England in the 1991 World Cup final: "We stuffed them well and truly."

Many thought Campese's knock-on in the closing seconds of the match to be deliberate. The newspapers were silent about this momentary obstruction of Underwood, off the ball, in the fourth minute of the second half, which prevented a certain try by England. The photo shows the moment (and Campese's eccentricity of wearing No 11 on the right wing).
