If Duke Franz of Bavaria, the "senior representative of the Stuart line", wants to claim his own again, it's not just Scotland that needs to watch out ("The man who would be king", Review, 11 May). The last Stuart to pursue a claim in these parts wasn't interested only in Scotland. In 1745, Charles Edward got as far as Derby and if he'd kept on to London he might have struck lucky, such was the panic there. In view of recent problems with the Windsor line, perhaps Bonnie Duke Franz should have a go.
