I OFTEN wonder how the monthly inflation rate percentage is calculated, in true terms. For the month of December we are told that inflation has risen, but surely prices always rise at Christmas then go down in January. Our rich policy-makers who raise interest rates no doubt have no mortgages, but substantial investments.
