Integrity: the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles. Honesty: being able to tell the truth. To be trusted.
So Rishi Sunak has continued where his predecessor left off. The very first words from Sunak as prime minister included a promise to restore honesty and integrity to government so that the electorate would again have trust in those elected to represent them.
We now see that it has all been a lie. Upholding integrity is not something Rishi Sunak will do. He feels unable to say whether he supports the findings of a committee, set up by parliament to reveal the awful truth about Boris Johnson’s lies. He then dodges the vote. A vote that would have shown the public that he is sticking to his word.
