Architecture Update: Desperate bids
ARCHITECTS desperate for work have been putting in bids that barely cover their overheads. According to Richard MacCormac, president of the Royal Institute of British Architects, this will lead to a lowering in quality. A statement by firms including Sir Norman Foster & Partners and the Richard Rogers Partnership says that architects who persist in offering 'cut-price' work will 'devalue the profession and forget their obligations to society at large'.
