Hirst statue: Oh I do like a nude beside the seaside
A 70ft tall statue of a naked, pregnant woman holding a sword aloft has arrived in Ilfracombe despite objections by more than 100 residents who branded it "obscene and disgusting".
Damien Hirst created the bronze-clad Verity Statue and has loaned it to the Devon seaside town for 20 years. It was transported in two pieces and will be installed this week as the montage above shows. It is described as a modern allegory of truth and justice.
