The site-specific earthwork was commissioned by Motorola for their 95 acre site, and was the first of the M8 Project commissions initiated by Art in Partnership. The earthwork is sited adjacent to the M8 motorway, the major east-west axis route, and viewed progressionally from the road, and more contemplatively within the property. The sculpture was designed in accord with its surroundings, connecting to regional history, past industry and surrounding geological formations. It was constructed utilizing displaced soil on the site from the new facility construction. The Seven Ramps are each 35ft high x 116ft wide x 145 feet long; the Platform, is 142 ft wide; the maximum height of the Platform and Ramps is 540 ft.
