Four “important works” by L.S Lowry are among a collection of 20th Century British artwork due to be auctioned next Wednesday.

The sale, at Sotheby’s auction house in London, also includes rare paintings by sculptor Henry Moore, oil paintings by Bloomsbury Group member Duncan Grant and fine sketches by Augustus John.

‘Head’ by Barbara Hepworth is another highlight, as is Stanley Spencer’s ‘Portrait of Lady Slesser’.
