Sharon Stone says she ‘never had untoward experiences’ with Woody Allen

Actor worked with Allen on multiple films, including Stardust Memories and Antz

Sharon Stone has said that she “never had an untoward” experience with Woody Allen, who has reiterated denials of child sex abuse.

In February, Allen condemned a new documentary series, Allen v Farrow, which explored his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow’s allegations that he sexually abused her as a child. Allen called the series “a hatchet job riddled with falsehoods”, and denied that any sexual abuse took place.

Stone, who worked with Allen on his 1980 film Stardust Memories, and acted alongside him in the films Antz, Picking Up the Pieces and Fading Gigolo, commented on the documentary series while promoting her new memoir, The Beauty of Living Twice.

During an appearance on Michelle Collins’s US radio show, Stone said that while the documentary “may very well be 100 percent true”, it did not reflect her personal experience with Allen.

“I never had an untoward experience with Woody Allen,” she continued. “My experiences with Woody Allen were all wonderful. He was highly professional with me. He was extraordinarily encouraging to me and I was a young woman, 19, when I started working with him.”

In her new memoir, Stone recalled panicking that she may have stabbed her Basic Instinct co-star to death while they filmed a sex scene.

She also claimed that a producer once encouraged her to have sex with a co-star in order to improve their on-screen chemistry.

The Beauty of Living Twice is released on 1 April.
