Vocals: David Bowie

He's our favourite man. We'd like him to be accompanied by Minnie Riperton on backing vocals. She had a five-octave range and the voice of an angel.

Lyrics: Donald Fagen

Steely Dan lyrics are the best; they tell stories and they make you laugh.

Guitar: Connan Mockasin

He would add a psychedelic sound. Lately, I haven't stopped listening to his new single, “I'm the Man, That Will Find You”.

Drums: Jaki Liebezeit

Can's drummer. He has a motorik, metronomic style but he's funky as well. We'd have him or Sheila E.

Keyboards: Bernie Worrell

He was the keyboard player in Parliament/Funkadelic and the expanded Talking Heads, which is another dream band of ours.

Production: Arthur Russell

He would make something really free and unexpected. My favourite stuff of his is the experimental disco period.

Bass: Jah Wobble

He was the original bass player in PiL, and went on to make great solo records like “How Much Are They?” which are all driven by his heavy bass sound.

Tomorrow's World play OohLaLA!, a three-day French music festival at London's Village Underground, 21-24 October (www.oohlalafestival.com)
