My Fantasy Band: Alice Costelloe, Big Deal
'Being a Muppet shouldn’t exclude him from the band...'
Saturday 05 January 2013
Lead guitar: Marnie Stern
She's the best female guitarist in the world as far as I'm concerned. She's an insane guitarist and plays in a kind of fantasy band line-up anyway. She has really great people playing for her, like the drummer Zach Hill.
Bass: Paul Rudd
I don't know if you've seen that film I Love You, Man, when he's "slappin da bass", but I think he would really suit our line-up.
Rhythm guitar: James Iha
He used to play with the Smashing Pumpkins. There always needs to be one member who looks like they're not enjoying it and would rather be somewhere else. James would be ours. Every band needs one.
Drums: Animal
Being a Muppet shouldn't exclude him from being in a dream-band line-up. Especially when he can keep up with Buddy Rich.
Vocals: Evan Dando
It would be really funny to have him as a frontman with a Muppet on drums. We just saw him recently and he's great to watch, really funny. Juliana Hatfield was playing with him. She probably played a bit too much for my liking, but there you go. He was amazing. I was worried it was going to be a bit of a train wreck having two strung-out, troubled personalities on stage, but it was incredible.
Big Deal's new single, "Teradactol", is out now; their new album is out in the spring
