My fantasy band: Sam Kilcoyne, S.C.U.M
Vocals - Lee Hazlewood
I imagine he'd lead the band better than anyone. The psychedelic cowboy has a look and the sound that is second to none. Backing vocals would come from Joe Meek's bath tub.
Drums - Malcolm Catto
Malcolm Catto is one of the most creative drummers around. His LP with MRR ADM is one of the dirtiest synthesizer-drenched drum freak outs ever.
Bass Moriaki - Wakabayashi
In 1970 he was part of the Japanese Red Army terrorist group which hijacked an aircraft, but more importantly he was the original bass player of the psych-noise band Les Rallizes Denudes. I imagine he was the bad boy of the band.
Synthesize - Bruce Haack
A brilliant creative mind who'd make the sound come to life with trippy effects and spaced out attacks. He's the man – read up on him.
Horns - Ennio Morricone
Having the legendary film composer on horns would complete the sound. He'd have the hair standing up on the back of your neck.
S.C.U.M headline Field Day tomorrow. Underage festival, which Sam Kilcoyne founded, is on Sunday.
