At Sound and Vision's annual invitation-only event at London's Abbey Road Studios, where Tom Jones and The Feeling will perform this year, guests bid in a silent auction for photographs of pop stars in aid of Cancer Research. Others can bid for VIP tickets and music memorabilia, including hand-written lyrics by Plan B, Paul Weller and the Happy Mondays, through the Sound and Vision eBay site.

This year's highlights include a snap of the young Michael Jackson in 1972, by Barry Plummer. Jackson is waving and wearing a flying jacket as he leans out of an aeroplane cockpit at Gatwick Airport. Elton John by Graham Wood was taken in Russia, when he became the first Western pop star to perform behind the Iron Curtain.

John Lennon and Yoko Ono are captured by Gerry Deiter at their famous Bed-in for Peace in 1969; Freddie Mercury and Brian May are snapped on stage during Queen's first solo British tour in 1974. A Louis Armstrong image is famed for its use as a stamp in the US Post Office jazz series in 1996.

Björk holds a mask in an NME shoot in 1995 taken by Steve Double. Double says, "Björk was as charming and off beat as ever and happy to play along with my slightly daft ideas for the pictures."

Sound and Vision, Abbey Road Studios, London NW8 (020 7266 7000) 24 February. Bid for your chance to be there, by 15 February, at www.soundandvisionebay.com
