'Sell new CDs for £1' says industry expert
A former leading record-label boss has said lowering the prices of albums to £1 could lead to a huge rise in music sales.
Rob Dickins, who ran Warner Music in the UK for 15 years until 1998, called for a "revolution" in pricing to compete with the boom in digital downloads.
However Jonathan Shalit, who discovered Charlotte Church and manages N-Dubz and Russell Watson, described the suggestion as a "totally ridiculous".
