Less really is less in the case of this indie-pop romantic, whose droll, bombastic 2007 LP Night Falls Over Kortedala suggested a Scandi Stephin Merritt.
Conversely, this break-up album follow-up is a chastened affair: instrumentally pared-back, vocally wan and full of unremarkable Brill-Building-meets-Belle-and-Sebastian ditties.
Lekman remains a wonderful, idiosyncratic storyteller, though, and you sense he has many fine career chapters ahead.
