At last, the organ-grinder. Or at least, that is how the debut from the Strokes leader will uncharitably be viewed – coming as it does after nearly all of Casablancas' monkeys have dropped at least one solo record.

Written largely – yawn – about being in a band, it's a mixed bag. Top of the bunch is "11th Dimension", a better pop song than The Strokes have knocked out in many a year, which boasts Casablancas' most honest and self-aware lyric yet: "I've got a mind full of blanks...".
