On 'Beautiful Future', Primal Scream continue their fantasy of living in an urban war zone (the title track depicts bodies hanging from trees and gas chambers).

Recorded with Bjorn Yttling of Peter, Bjorn & John, this LP is a fairly painless wander through the Scream's electronic-based moods. "Over & Over", is correctly credited as a Fleetwood Mac cover. It's a shame the same courtesy isn't paid to Ringo Starr for "Zombie Man" – a foul piece of thievery from the Beatle's "Back Off Boogaloo". It's just a question of who will get to Bobby Gillespie first: bereaved relatives of British servicemen, or Ringo Starr's lawyers.

Pick of the Album: Before it blows up in his face: 'Suicide Bomb'
