Album: Sam Carter, The No Testament (Captain)
Sunday 12 August 2012
Highly talented guitarist/singer-songwriter "searching for the things that matter to us in the 21st century".
Kid can play, and he sings with the voice of the young Bowie. His searches take him within the gravitational fields of divorce, venality, environmental ruination and include a Nic Jones song among a high ratio of self-penned numbers, all elegantly arranged and written in self-consciously prosy style. He'd say wry. I'd say borderline sententious.
