Hidden Orchestra, Archipelago (Tru Thoughts)
There's a strain of European post-rave/techno instrumental music that might or might not be jazz, exemplified by Cinematic Orchestra and Arve Henriksen.
This second album by Hidden Orchestra can live in their company, sharing the same dialectic of propulsive groove and chill-out calm. Composer Joe Acheson seems more interested in texture than development and you can long for a discordant voice, but as head-nodding experiences go, this is pretty good.
