Show all 4It is an unlikely TV format to have spawned four series and a dozen international versions, but The Great British Bake Off has proved a remarkable success with viewers since it began in 2010.

Its few winners have each published a book (or two), written baking columns and made television appearances.
The series’ first winner Edd Kimber and last year’s champion John Whaite have gone on to work in pastry kitchens, while 2011 winner Joanne Wheatley runs an AGA baking cooking course from her home in Essex.
This year's winner Frances Quinn has revealed she has been approached by publishers to produce a coffee table cook book, but has yet to decide whether she will give up her full-time job as a clothes designer to pursue a career in baking.
The twee, often tongue-in-cheek show has attracted record viewing figures this year.
The Great British Bake Off will be moving to BBC One next year, where it will no doubt continue to produce a fresh batch of baking boffins for a few more years to come.
