Marvel’s Daredevil was a huge hit on Netflix, both with critics and viewers alike.

It came as no surprise that, after being available for just a few weeks, a second series was confirmed and the rumour mill began turning as to who and what would show up in the sequel.

So far, not a lot is known about the second series, but Rosario Dawson has been confirmed by Marvel to be returning as Claire Temple, the brave nurse who treated Matt Murdoch’s many wounds on several occasions last season.

She was also the closest thing blind heartthrob Murdoch had to a love interest in the first series - sharing a kiss as well as tips on how not to rupture stitches with the badass lawyer.

“After working with Rosario in the first season, we knew instantly that we had to have her back for our second,” said Head of Marvel TV Jeph Loeb.

“Claire Temple proved a fan favourite in season one, and we can’t wait for fans to see all the plans we have for her next.”

Her character has also been left open to appear in any of Marvel’s other Netflix originals which currently include A.K.A. Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron fist and mini-series The Defender, which will bring all four series together in an Avengers-esque manor.

Marvel’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones started filming earlier this year and features Krysten Ritter, best known as Aaron Paul’s drug-addicted girlfriend in Breaking Bad, as the title character.

David Tennant is also set to play supervillain Purple Man in the series.

Daredevil series 2 is set for release some time in 2016 while Jessica Jones will be released onto Netflix later this year.
