Jeremy Clarkson has rebuffed assumptions he enjoys watching online porn after his Twitter account ‘liked’ a slew of illicit, sexual videos.

The Grand Tour host, who is currently recovering from pneumonia, claimed unnamed “drunk people” hijacked his phone after observers noticed the videos he had allegedly been looking at.

The most recent like on the 57-year-old’s Twitter account was a random porn account showing a woman dancing in lingerie. There was also a video of a man and woman engaging in a sexual act from the beginning of August.

“Is someone going to tell pervy Jeremy Clarkson we can see his likes or shall I? #awkward,” asked Adam Hollman on Twitter.

But the former Top Gear presenter, who was sacked by the BBC in 2015, has dismissed the idea he is responsible for liking the pages and instead claimed he left his phone unmanned.

“Valuable lesson learned this morning about not leaving your phone unattended when there are drunk people about," he wrote on Twitter.

Nevertheless, many of his fans remained less than convinced and mocked Clarkson’s response.

“He's telling the truth, he's just not told us the drunk person was himself,” said one.

“Over a week between likes... we aren't all captain slow mate,” chipped in another.

Clarkson became ill with pneumonia on the Spanish island of Mallorca earlier this month and recently revealed doctors informed him he could have died from the illness in hospital.

At the time, he posted a picture on Instagram of tubes in his arm and his hospital identity tags around his wrist, saying: "Not the sort of bangles I usually choose on holiday."
