The British supermodel plays a witch who uses magic spells to fight the enemy, and who's the latest recruit of Task Force X

Now you can see Cara Delevingne's transformation into a supervillain, as Warner Bros releases the official trailer of Suicide Squad.

The British supermodel plays Enchantress, a witch who uses massive magical spells to defeat the enemy, and who joins Suicide Squad (also known as Task Force X), a secret government agency that recruits imprisoned supervillains for dangerous ops missions.

In the trailer she's seen submerging herself in black pond water, in a kiss scene, and more disturbingly, tied into a bed.

Her character first appeared in Strange Adventures comics in April 1966 and this will be the live-action cinematic debut.

Delevingne was first thought to play Harley Quinn, The Joker's accomplice and lover, after she posted a cartoon of herself dressed as Harley on Instagram earlier last year, but fellow star Margot Robbie, who's seen dancing acrobatically in a cage, has taken the role instead. They both appear alongside Will Smith, as Floyd Lawton or Deadshot; and Jared Leto as The Joker.

Delevingne has already made the tricky leap from the world of fashion to movies with acting jobs in critically acclaimed films such as The Face of Angel and Paper Towns. Suicide Squad's trailer, however, is the latest acting reveal for the 22-year-old.

In a recent interview, Delevingne said to be pursuing acting career because fashion had left her “empty”.

“I ended up feeling a bit empty. Fashion is about what’s on the outside, and that’s it,” she told The Wall Street Journal. But insisted she didn't want to "that cliche" of "model-slash-actress".

She also revealed that acting was always in her mind, but that she gave it up “because trying to get an agent was impossible”. Now, her current agents, William Morris Endeavour, have landed her a number of big acting jobs.

The film is set to be released in August 2016.
