Cheryl Fernandez-Versini dismisses Lord Sugar's 'stupid' criticism over her weight

'I've got nothing to say to stupidity'

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has dismissed Lord Alan Sugar's criticism of her being too thin as "stupidity".

Last month, the Apprentice judge offered his opinion that “Cheryl is now too thin” to his 4.74 million followers on Twitter, while he was watching the X-factor.

Fernandez-Versini has not commented on the claims until now, when responding to being asked on the matter by the Daily Mirror.

“I’ve got nothing to say to stupidity. How do you answer stupidity?

“With intelligence? If I cared I would be bothered,” the singer said.

The 32-year-old has previously said she believes body-shaming should be made illegal for the next generation of women as it’s “bullsh*t”.

Her stance came after she was forced to defend herself on Instagram when a social media user said she looked like a “bag of bones”.

Fernandez-Versini hit back, saying: “I would never dream of calling somebody too fat…I’m so sick of people thinking it’s ok to be mean or body shame anyone. And it’s woman on woman. Have some respect and maybe think there may be reasons why before opening your mouth please.”

The singer then attributed any recent weight loss to grief, after the father of her husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini passed away.
